Safety and Salamanders go hand in hand
Students from Covenant Christian School had some special visitors from South Alabama Electric Cooperative. Mrs. Laura Grice’s Fourth Grade class learned about electrical safety, how electricity is made and they also got an up close look at some of the creatures that are found under our powerlines. “It was almost like we adopted their class for the fall,” Chellie Phillips, Communications and Member Services Representative, said. “We brought a whole series of experiences into their classroom from safety lessons to frogs and salamanders.” Students really seemed to learn a lot during these visit. Two students received awards for their stories concerning safety and they are featured on these pages.
